Witnessing and the Evolutionist

As Christians, we are called to live our lives in agreement with the Bible’s teachings AND witness those beliefs to others. Apologetics is about rescuing souls. Witnessing to those that have an evolution based world view takes special care. Evolution theory is not science but rather an alternate religion as we have discussed many times. Therefore, we can’t simply point out evolution’s major flaws as revealed by science and expect a conversion to Creationism.

Challenging millions of years through science is required but this “negative” approach often causes a digging in and not conversion. Evolution believers will not abandon their religion and historical view due to a scientific discovery. Evolution Theory will change into something else, as it has many times, or they will discredit the discovery by calling it something fancy like “non-conformity” or claim the researcher is a wacko. This might seem surprising since evolutionists claim science “proves” evolution to be true.

The Bible is fundamentally a history book that documents real interactions between God and humans. The Bible provides answers to history and life questions we all have. Where did we come from? Why are we so different from the animals? Where did the rocks come from? Why are ocean fossils in all the rock? Why do we speak different languages? Where did good and evil come from? And most importantly, the Gospel message answers  the question, what is the meaning of life?

The Bible has answers to all of these life questions. We were created by God, during the Creation Week ,in His image and He gave His only Son so that we could have eternal life. The positive message of the Bible is simple, we are so valuable the Creator died for us! Evolution theory has terrible and utterly depressing answers to every one of the above questions.  Evolution answers those questions that humans are an massive accident with no higher value compared to the animals and this life is all you have.

The positive outlook for our destiny results from the Bible’s historical account. This positive outlook and worldview must be part of any conversation when witnessing to someone holding an evolution based worldview. Once the evolutionist wants to believe the positive message of the Bible, the scientific flaws of evolution can become the tipping point for them to abandon the terrible lie of evolution.
